What did Craftpeer need?
Craftpeer wanted a single B2B marketplace app that connects sellers and buyers. Sellers needed to show product information. Buyers needed to place orders, follow deliveries and raise problems with a product. Craftpeer’s own staff needed a secure back end to set up and update buyer and seller accounts.
What did the team build?
The app has five features, each built for a specific user.
| Feature | Used by | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Product listings | Sellers | Show product information to buyers in the app |
| Order handling | Buyers and sellers | Place orders, and accept or reject them |
| Delivery tracking | Buyers | Follow the status of each delivery |
| Product concerns | Buyers | Report a problem with a product from inside the app |
| Staff back end | Craftpeer staff | Enter buyer and seller credentials and update their profiles |
How did the project run?
-
Journey templates first. Before writing code, the team mapped the buyer and seller journeys as templates, so Craftpeer could agree how the app would work.
-
Development. The team built the five features and the staff back end.
-
Communication. Craftpeer worked mainly with a project manager and a lead developer, over Slack and phone calls.
-
Launch and support. The app went live in October 2021. Support after launch was included at no extra cost.
What was the result?
Craftpeer received a working B2B marketplace app that did what it had planned from the start, without repeated rounds of testing. When the client reviewed the project in October 2021, the app had just gone live and was not yet on an app store, so there are no usage figures to report.
On timing: the client said the project took longer than the dates in the original proposal. It ran from May to October 2021.
What did the client say?
“Intelivita proposed concrete solutions from the very beginning. They took full responsibility for our project and proactively met our expectations.”

The client’s advice to others: “Go the extra mile by designing your wireframes or templates.”
How much does a B2B marketplace app cost?
This first version cost about £7,500 in 2021. It covered product listings, order handling, delivery tracking, product concerns and a staff back end. A marketplace app with in-app payments, chat or separate iOS and Android builds costs more. Most apps we build cost between £5,000 and £150,000. See what affects app development cost.
